Hubbell is an unincorporated community in the southwestern corner of Jefferson Township, Owen County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.[2] It lies near the intersection of County Road 750 South (aka Hubbell Station) and Indiana Highway 157, which is a community nearly twenty miles southwest of the city of Spencer, the county seat.[3] Its elevation is 528 feet (161 m), and it is located at 39°10′59″N 87°0′44″W / 39.18306°N 87.01222°W / 39.18306; -87.01222 (39.1830989 -87.0122322). This community is also known as Hubbells Station.

History

A post office was established at Hubbell in 1881, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1883.[4] Mary E. Hubbell served as the postmaster.[5]
