Howard W. Peak was the mayor of San Antonio, Texas from 1997 to 2001. He was succeeded by Ed Garza.[2]
Among his accomplishments was the development of a system of greenway trails for the city,[3] which was named in his honor after his tenure as mayor.[4][5][6] As of 2017, he is the last Republican to serve as mayor of San Antonio.
