House of Refuge

House of Refuge (New House of Refuge Hospital) was a institute in St. Louis, Missouri that cared for young boys and girls and gave them a home where there was support, education, and discipline that taught them to take care of themselves.[1] It was thought that this institute was used as the New House of Refuge Hospital during the American Civil War.[2]
