Hot Topics in... is a series of triannual English-language medical journals published by FBCommunication. All content is freely available online after 2 years.
The series
The series provides readers with scientific information and expert opinion on topics of current interest. The focus of each monograph is on the most recent advances where progress appears to have altered the standard of practice.
Each article provides information on specific medical topics, including recently developed drugs, clinical trials, new diagnostic approaches, epidemics of the disease, and treatments.[1] Authored by experts in their fields, every issue is reviewed and edited by an internationally recognized authority. The journals are indexed by various specialized databases, including Embase[2] and Scopus. Issues are translated in other languages, and are reviewed and edited by native speakers.

- Hot Topics in Cardiology (print: ISSN 1973-9621, Online: ISSN 2036-0924) has been published since 2006. The editors-in-chief are Sergio Dalla Volta (University of Padua), Christopher P. Cannon (Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Past editor-in-chief (2008–2009) is Philip A. Poole-Wilson (National Heart and Lung Institute).
- Hot Topics in Cardiometabolic Disorders (print: ISSN 2037-8831, online: ISSN 2037-9080) has been published since 2010. The editor-in-chief is Jorge Plutzky (Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School).
- Hot Topics in Hypertension (print: ISSN 1973-963X), online: ISSN 2036-0908) has been published three times since 2007. The editor-in-chief is Massimo Volpe (Sapienza University of Rome).
- Hot Topics in Oncology (print: ISSN 1973-9656, online: ISSN 2036-0894) has been published since 2007. Until 2010, the editor-in-chief was Dan L. Longo (National Institute on Aging).
- Hot Topics in Respiratory Medicine (print: ISSN 1973-9664, online: ISSN 2036-0886) has been published since 2006. The editor-in-chief is Marc Miravitlles (Institut Clínic del Tòrax at the Hospital Clinic, Barcelona, Spain).
- Hot Topics in Neurology and Psychiatry (print: ISSN 1974-7640, online: ISSN 2036-0916) has been published since 2008. The editors-in-chief are Rita Moretti and Paola Torre (University of Trieste).
- Hot Topics in Viral Hepatitis (print: ISSN 1973-9648, online: ISSN 2036-0932) has been published since 2005. The editor-in-chief is Francesco Negro (University of Geneva).
