Hortensia diamond

The Hortensia diamond was mined in India and is one of the Golconda Diamonds. It was purchased by King Louis XIV of France in 1643 and was in his custody until 1715. It is a 20 carat pentagonal diamond. Currently it is part of the French Crown Jewels. It was stolen twice during the French revolution and from the custody of the Ministry of Marine. Hortensia is display at the Galerie d'Apollon of the Louvre museum in Paris.[1][2][3][4]
