It was originally a non-charted single by Webb Pierce that was released in 1974.[1] It was released in February 1984 as the second single from the album Don't Cheat in Our Hometown. "Honey (Open That Door)" was Ricky Skaggs' seventh number one on the country chart. The single stayed at number one for one week and spent a total of eleven weeks on the country chart.[2]
