History Council of Western Australia

The History Council of Western Australia is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the study, preservation and use of history in Western Australia.

Founded in 2003, the History Council of Western Australia aims to promote an "active engagement with history" across broader society.[1] It has been notable for its engagement in the debate surrounding the 2011/12 Perth Waterfront Development.[2][3][4]

It is identified as a relevant organisation by the Australian government,[5] and it regularly collaborates with the other similar organisations in Perth, such as the Royal Western Australian Historical Society, and the National Trust.
