Hillenbrand, Inc. is an American manufacturing company that engineers, manufactures and sells business-to-business products and services into a variety of end markets. Hillenbrand consists of multiple subsidiaries contained within two business platforms: Batesville Casket Company supplies coffins and cremation urns to the North American funeral industry, and Process Equipment Group designs and produces equipment and systems used in processing applications.[2]
The company was incorporated on November 1, 2007, in the U.S. state of Indiana, and began trading on the NYSE under the symbol "HI" on April 1, 2008.[3] It became a publicly traded company as the result of the separation of Hillenbrand Industries, Inc. (also referred to as Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. or "Hill-Rom") into two separate publicly traded companies, Hillenbrand and Hill-Rom.
