High School Lover is a 2017 American romance film directed by Jerell Rosales in his feature film directorial debut. The film stars Paulina Singer, François Arnaud, Lana Condor, Tyler Alvarez, Julia Jones, and James Franco. It premiered on Lifetime on February 4, 2017.

Plot

After a 17-year-old falls in love with an older man, her father tries to intervene before the crush turns into a dangerous obsession.

Production

The project was first reported in August 2016, titled High School Affair, with rumors that James Franco would be co-directing the feature with Jerell Rosales.[1] In January 2017, after filming had been completed on the production, Lifetime picked up the film, now titled High School Lover, and it was announced that Franco stars in the film and serves as an executive producer.[2] It was also reported that Paulina Singer and François Arnaud have lead roles in the film.[3]

Release

In January 2017, it was announced that the film would be a part of Lifetime's slate, and would premiere on February 4, 2017.[4]
