Higashi-Shimizu Frequency Converter
Higashi-Shimizu Frequency Converter is the third facility in Japan for interconnecting the power grid of Eastern Japan, which is operated with 50 hertz to that of Western Japan, which is operated with 60 hertz.
The Higashi-Shimizu Frequency Converter Station, which is operated by Chubu Electric Power Co and situated northeast of Shimizu at 677-3 Tanakake, Hirose-aza, Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka is fed over a 275 kV power line and over a 154 kV power line. Its inverters operate with a DC voltage of 125 kV and have a maximum transmission rate of 300 MW.
Other stations are at Shin Shinano, Sakuma Dam, and Minami-Fukumitsu.
