Hickleton is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it has a population of 291,[1] reducing slightly to 274 at the 2011 Census.[2]

There are records of Hickleton’s history dating back to Saxon times, although some consider the settlement has Roman roots.[3]

More recently, it was the "estate village" of Hickleton Hall, formerly the home of the Earls of Halifax but now a Sue Ryder Care Home.

Hickleton's parish church, St. Wilfrid's is mainly of mediaeval construction with Norman features, restored in Victorian times by George Frederick Bodley.
