Hi! Pristin is the debut mini-album recorded by South Korean girl group, Pristin. It was released on March 21, 2017, by Pledis Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. The album consists of six songs, including the single "Wee Woo". In order to promote the EP, the group performed on several South Korean music programs, including Music Bank and Inkigayo. A music video for the title track was also released on March 21.

The EP was a commercial success peaking at number 4 on Gaon Album Chart and at number 10 on Billboard's World Albums chart. The mini-album has sold 36,402 physical copies as of April 2017.

Background and release

On March 3, 2017, it was officially announced by Pledis Entertainment that the group's first mini-album will be called "Hi! Pristin", setting the release for March 21. A few days later, on March 7, a schedule for the group was released.[1] On March 14, a highlight medley of the EP was released through Pristin's official YouTube channel.[2] On the same day, the full track list was revealed.[3]

Hi! Pristin was released on March 21, 2017, through several music sites, including Melon in South Korea, and on iTunes for the global market.[4][5]

Music video

On March 17, 2017, the first music video teaser was released, and a day later, the second and final teaser was released.[6][7]

The music video was released on March 21, through Pristin's official YouTube channel and on 1theK channel. The music video earned 4 million views combined in less than a week since the release.[8][9]

Promotion

Pristin held their debut stage, performing "Black Widow" and "Wee Woo", on Mnet's M Countdown on March 23, 2017.[10][11] They continued on KBS's Music Bank on March 24, MBC's Show! Music Core on March 25 and SBS's Inkigayo on March 26.

Commercial performance

Hi! Pristin entered at number 4 on the Gaon Album Chart on the chart issue dated March 19–25, 2017.[12] The EP also entered at number 10 on US Billboard's World Albums chart.[13] The EP entered at number 10 on the Gaon Album Chart for the month of March, with 23,519 physical copies sold and stayed for almost 3 months in the top 10. [14][15]

The title track, "Wee Woo", entered at number 52 on the Gaon Digital Chart on the chart issue dated March 19–25, 2017, with 36,390 downloads sold. By the end of its month debut it had sold more than 138,000 downloads. [16][17]
