Herbert Buckler (3 January 1878[3] — 23 January 1957 (aged 79)[4]) birth registered in Pontypool district, was a Welsh professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1900s, playing at representative level for Other Nationalities, and at club level for Salford, as a second-row, i.e. number 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums,[5] his death was registered in Cardiff district.
International honours
Herbert Buckler won a cap playing right-second-row, i.e. number 12 for Other Nationalities in the 9-3 victory over England at Central Park, Wigan on Tuesday 5 April 1904, in the first ever international rugby league match.[6][7]

Herbert Buckler was the older brother of the rugby league footballer, Arthur Buckler.
