Heraclid
Heraclid or Heraclids, in ancient history a modern form of the legendary Hellenic clan of the Heracleidae, the mythological patronymic applying to persons descended from Hercules. As they were of the legendary tribe of the Dorians, the name in the classical age could mean anyone of Dorian background. Subsequently the trend of neo-classicism brought name into modern times. It can refer to
- Heracleidae, an ethnic designation of persons who had or claimed descent from the mythological Heracles
- Ioan Iacob Heraclid, a Greek soldier and ruler of Moldavia in the 16th century
