Henry Alexius Abbott
Henry Alexius Abbott (1764-1819) was a Calcutta merchant who had several children which were influential in the British and East Indian Trading Company militaries serving in East India. Presumably he was from Blackheath, Kent, as obituaries of his children state. He married Margaret Welsh, the daughter of William Welsh of Edinburgh.
His children with his wife Margaret were:
- Augustus Abbott (7 January 1804 - 1867)
- Frederick Abbott (13 June 1805 – 4 November 1892)
- Sir James Abbott KCB (12 March 1807 – 6 October 1896)
- Emma Abbott (1809 - 1875)
- Saunders Alexius Abbott (9 July 1811 – 7 February 1894)
- Keith Edward Abbott (1814–1873)
- Edmund Abbott (1816 - ?)
