Dr Helen Anderson QSO is a New Zealand scientist and public servant. She currently serves as a director on a number of organisations' boards.

Early life

She has a PhD in geophysics from the University of Cambridge.[1]

Professional career

Anderson is a seismologist with expertise in the mechanics of large earthquakes.[2]

From 1997 to 2003 she was the Chief Science Advisor at the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology. She was then the Chief Executive of the Ministry from 2003 to April 2010.[1][2]

She is currently Chair of the Board at BRANZ and Fulbright NZ,[3] a director at Antarctica New Zealand,[4] a director at Dairy NZ[5] and a director at Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency.
