Heera Ramnarayan Pathak (Gujarati: હીરા રામનારાયણ પાઠક), born Heera Kalyanray Mehta, was a Gujarati poet and literary critic. She married Ramnarayan V. Pathak, a Gujarati writer.
Life
She was born on 12 April 1916 in Mumbai. She completed her matric in 1933 and completed Bachelor of Arts in 1936 from S.N.D.T University with Gujarati as main subject. She received Ph.D in 1938 for her research work Aapnu Vivechan Sahitya. She worked as professor of Gujarati at S.N.D.T University from 1938 to 1972. She was appointed as president of Gujarati Adhyapak Sangh for the years 1970 - 1971 and also served vice-president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad for few years.[1]
She married Ramnarayan V. Pathak, a Gujarati writer, as his second wife. The couple had no children.[2] She died on 15 September 1995.
Works
She published Paraloke Patra (1978), a collection of poems which is addressed to her deceased husband Ramnarayan. She had also written highly appreciated critical works, like Apanu Vivechansahitya and Kavyabhavan.[3][2]
Recognition
She received Narmad Suvarna Chandrak of 1968-1972 and Uma-Snehrashmi Prize of 1970-1971 for Parloke Patra. She was also awarded Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak in 1974.[1]
