Heather King
Heather King (born 1952)[1] is an essayist, memoirist, blogger and former lawyer.[2] Raised on the coast of New Hampshire, she struggled with alcoholism for many years, got sober in 1987, and converted to Catholicism in 1996.[2] She has written and recorded several slice-of-life commentaries for National Public Radio's All Things Considered and is the author of numerous essays[3] and three memoirs.
King is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire (1977) and Suffolk University Law School (1984).[4]
She lives in Los Angeles. She contributes to the Catholic magazine Magnificat[5][6] and the Catholic portal of Patheos,[4] and her column "The Crux" appears in ANGELUS.[7] One of her essays in Magnificat, "The Sacred Heart of Jesus", received Honorable Mention in 2014 from the Catholic Press Association.[5]
