"Hearsay" is a song written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and recorded by American recording artist Alexander O'Neal. It is the fourth track from the singer's second solo album, Hearsay (1987). The original track from the album wasn't released as a single but in 1989, a remixed version from All Mixed Up was released in the UK and it became a minor hit there, peaking at #56.[1]
Meaning
The songs lyrics are a personal commentary, critical of a spiteful gossip-monger who spreads hearsay.
