Harriet, also known as "Freedom Fire", is an upcoming biopic film directed by Seith Mann from a screenplay by Gregory Allen Howard, based on the life of famous abolitionist and warrior Harriet Tubman who escaped slavery and lead hundreds of enslaved people to freedom on the Underground Railroad. [1]
Tony award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo has been announced for the title role.[2][3][4]

Production
Variety reported that production was expected to begin in early 2017.[5] The film is being co-financed by Macro, New Balloon, and Stay Gold Features. Producers announced are Debra Martin Chase, Gregory Allen Howard, Charles D. King, and Daniela Taplin Lundberg.[6] Executive producers announced include Nnamdi Asomugha, Bill Benenson, Poppy Hanks, Kristina Kendall, and Elizabeth Koch.[7]
