Happy Death Day is an upcoming 2017 American slasher film directed by Christopher B. Landon and written by Scott Lobdell.[2] It stars Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Rob Mello, and Annika Harris. The film is set to be released on October 13, 2017, by Universal Pictures.[3]

Plot

Tree Gelbman must relive the same day over and over again on her birthday and figure out who attempts to kill her at her party every time and why.

Production

On October 11, 2016, Blumhouse Productions announced that Jessica Rothe had been cast in the lead role for the film, with Christopher B. Landon writing and directing with Jason Blum producing through Blumhouse Productions.[4] On November 8, 2016, it was announced that Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken and Rachel Matthews joined the cast alongside Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard.[5]

Happy Death Day is scheduled to be released on October 13, 2017, by Universal Studios.[6]
