Sen Sōshitsu XV
Sen Sōshitsu XV (十五代目千宗室), or Sen Genshitsu , is the 15th in a series of Japanese tea masters of the Urasenke family.[1]
Biography
He was born Hansō Sōshitsu (汎叟宗室, born April 19, 1923).
Sen Sōshitsu is the name of the head (iemoto) of the Urasenke school of the Japanese tea ceremony. He was followed by Sen Sōshitsu XVI.
The first person in this line of the Sen family to use the name Sōshitsu was the youngest son of Sen Sōtan. He was a great-grandson of Sen Rikyū.
