Hamza Bendelladj
Hamza Bendelladj' (ar : حمزة بن دلاج), known as Bx1 is an Algerian computer hacker known for hacking numerous American banks and stealing $400 million. He was arrested in Thailand in 2013 and extradited to the US to face charges.
Incident
Using log-in information obtained from a Trojan horse called SpyEye he co-created, he stole from 217 American banks and financial institutions. The SpyEye software was also sold to other hackers and used as part of a botnet.[1]
Sentence
Bendelladj, who hails from Tizi Ouzou in Algeria, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
