Hamilton County Schools is the school district that serves Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA. After a 1995 referendum, the separate Chattanooga City Schools district was merged into the county's in 1997. [2] About 2,300 high school seniors graduated from the system in May 2011.[3]

Dalewood Middle School is a middle school located in Chattanooga educates students in 6 – 8th grade. The school offers the following athletic extracurricular activities: football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track, and cheerleading. Approximately 500 students enroll each year. Notable alumni of Dalewood Middle School include Usher Raymond, R&B musician and actor, known professionally as "Usher".[5] Mr. Raymond visited students in February 2014 to recognize honor roll students and encouraged the entire school body to work hard as they prepare for state level testing.

Loftis Middle School is situated in Hixson, and consists of 6 – 8th grades. Brent Eller is the current principal. Loftis Middle was established in 1994 and was open by 1995.[6]
