The Halechiniscidae are a family of tardigrades.[1] The family was named by Gustav Thulin in 1928.

Until 1982, there were two subfamilies, in 1995, there were five and since 2015, there are six.

Etymology

Its etymology is from the Greek: halos salt and -echiniscidae, related to Echiniscidae

They are divided into 6 subfamilies with a total of 17 genera.[2]
