HANA

HANA is a residential development located in Singapore, on Tomlinson Road which is in the vicinity of Orchard Road. The condominium was developed by privately owned property developer Pontiac Land Group and designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill.

The residence won the 16th Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Architectural Design Award in 2016.[1]

Architecture

The building, designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill, was completed in 2013. Hill attributed his inspiration for the building’s contemporary design to Singapore’s tropical environments.[2]

Art

Housed in HANA is the “Colorcade”, a 3-metre by 8-metre acrylic painting by British artist Ian Davenport. Davenport is famous for creating complex colour arrangements in vertical lines by pouring glass paint from heavy-duty syringes, and then tilting the work. The art piece is Davenport’s first major outdoor commission in Southeast Asia.[3]
