H. Byron Earhart

H. Byron Earhart (born 7 January 1935) is an American historian and author.

Life

He was born on 7 January 1935.

Career

He studied under Mircea Eliade and Joseph M. Kitagawa at the University of Chicago, where he received a doctorate in History of Religions.[1]

He is currently a professor emeritus in the Department of Comparative Religion at Western Michigan University.[2]

His textbook on Japanese religion is now considered a classic and is used in universities all over the world.[3]
