Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi has a credit for establishing Peoples Medical College for Girls Now PUMHS and Mehran Engineering College now Quaid-E-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology Nawabshah (QUEST) during his stint as Chief Minister of Sindh. Following the passage of bill of establishing a medical college in Nawabshah by the Sindh Assembly, Mr. Jatoi confronted with a difficult situation for finding out a suitable location to start classes of the said institution immediately. For that matter he visited his teacher Mr. H.M Khoja and requested him to allow him to start girls medical college in a building (which was then housing a school run by Mr. H.M Khoja) on makeshift basis. However, Mr. Khoja reportedly declined his request and insisted not to disturb his academic environment. But Mr. Jatoi’s stand over the issue was that he was acquiring the building not for his own purpose but again for the sake of promotion of education in the area and later on convinced him to hand over the building to make the newly established Peoples Medical College functional. - Momin Bullo
