Gytis Masiulis (born April 10, 1998) is a Lithuanian basketball player for Žalgiris-2 of the National Basketball League.[1]
Professional career
Masiulis started his professional career when he signed with BC Žalgiris-2 in summer 2014. He debuted primary Žalgiris Kaunas team on January 22, 2017 versus Nevėžis Kėdainiai.[2] In June, 2017, he participated in adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy and led his European team to a 82:62 victory over the United States representatives team by scoring 16 points and grabbing 4 rebounds.[3]
National team career
Gytis Masiulis debuted for the Lithuania men's u-16 basketball team in the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship in Latvia.[4] He won bronze medals with Lithuania men's u-18 basketball team in the 2015 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship being one year younger than his opponents.[5] Year later, he won silver medal during the 2016 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship in Turkey.[6] In 2017, Masiulis represented Lithuania U-19 national team during the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup.[7]
Personal life
Gytis is the son of former Lithuania men's national basketball team member Tomas Masiulis, who won bronze medal during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and previously successfully played for his hometown team Žalgiris Kaunas and Prokom Trefl Sopot in EuroLeague.[8]
