Gravitas is the fourteenth studio album by British progressive rock band Asia, released on 25 March 2014.[2][3] Written and produced by John Wetton and Geoff Downes, it is the group's first release to feature their new guitarist, Sam Coulson, who replaced Steve Howe in January 2013 after the latter retired from the band,[4] and their final studio album before Wetton died of cancer in 2017.[5] Gravitas was originally announced under the name Valkyrie which would eventually come to be the name of the lead single.
