Grammarly is an English language writing-enhancement platform developed by Grammarly, Inc., and launched in 2009. Grammarly's proofreading and plagiarism-detection resources[3] check more than 250 grammar rules.[4][5][6]

Grammarly is available as an online text editor or free browser extension for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

History

The company was founded in 2009 by Alex Shevchenko and Max Lytvyn.[6][7] Brad Hoover, the company's chief executive officer, is an investor with a background in engineering who learned about Grammarly while searching for an automated proofreading tool for his own writing.[7]

Grammarly, Inc, has headquarters in San Francisco. An additional office is in Kiev.[7]

Recognition

In the 2013 Best Online Grammar Checker Comparisons and Reviews, Grammarly won the TopTenReviews Gold Award, with a rating of 8.88.[8][9]
