Government Comprehensive Boys High School, Samanabad
Government Comprehensive Model High School, is a public sector high school located in Samanabad, Faisalabad. Comprehensive schools were built by the government of Pakistan in the 1970s under a plan to build at least one model high school in every district.
In Pakistan high school education starts after finishing grade 5 in a primary school. High schools offer education grade 6 to grade 10, after which students are awarded Secondary School Certificate commonly known as matriculation certificate. Comprehensive schools have been known to have better standards compared to other public sector schools. The students of the matric standard use separate laboratories for Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Students also participate in skill development programmes like woodwork, electricity, arts and drawing.
Extracurricular activities include competitions of qira'at, poetry, Urdu and English speeches, science quiz and general quiz. Annual sports competitions of hockey, cricket, volleyball and football are also held between various high schools of the district.
