Gollobordë (Bulgarian: Голо Бърдо [1] and Macedonian: Голо Брдо; definite Albanian form: Golloborda) refers to a geographical area situated primarily in eastern Albania, with a small portion consisting of two villages lying within the Republic of Macedonia. This region is located within the Dibër and Elbasan counties which contain both Macedonian and Albanian villages. The majority group in the region consists of Macedonian Muslims, while there are Orthodox Macedonian and Muslim Albanian minorities, as well as other smaller minorities such as Roma, Aromanians and Turks (in the part of the region that is on the Macedonian side of the border). The region was divided in 1925 between Albania and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. According to Census 2001, in Albania as a whole there are about 5,000 Macedonians.
