Gogol (Detective)

Gogol (Detective) is a fictional teenage detective character created by Bengali writer Samaresh Basu especially for children. Few Gogol's stories were adapted into films.[1]

Character

As per the writer Samaresh Basu, Gogol's father Samiresh Chatterjee was fan of Russian writer Nikolai Gogol hence he named his only child as Gogol Chatterjee. Basu crafted Gogol as intelligent, obedient to his parents but extremely curious about anything happening besides him. He often found himselve entangled in a web of mystery. His curiosity moves him into the matter of investigation. Sometimes Gogol faced serious problem even life threat from the offenders. This fictional detective character is still very popular for children. In some cases Private investigator of Naihati, Mr. Ashok Thakur help and save Gogol from the criminals.[2][1]

Stories

Bose writes lot of short stories and novel based on Gogol's adventures. Most of the Gogol series were published in Bengali child magazine like Anandamela, Shuktara etc.
