Global Transportation Hub Authority - in Regina Saskatchewan - is one of Canada's several inland ports, including Centre Port in Manitoba and Port Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. The statutory corporation is responsible for marketing, financing, planning and attracting investment for an inter-modal transfer and logistics facility in Regina.
The Global Transportation Hub consists of:
- Canadian Pacific (CP) - the decision by CP to locate its new Intermodal Facility at the west edge of Regina is fundamental to the development of the GTH.
- Loblaw Group of Companies - is Canada’s largest food retailer.
- Consolidated Fastfrate – One of the largest privately owned transportation and logistic services in Canada.
- The Emterra Group – Emterra was awarded a 10-year contract by the City of Regina in 2012 as their curbside recycler.
- Morguard Investments Limited - is a fully integrated real estate organization, with more than 1,400 employees. They will provide leased facilities designed for the transportation and distribution sector.
- Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority - is building their new 145,000 square foot liquor distribution warehouse at the GTH.
- SaskPower – delivers electricity throughout the province, serving more than 467,000 customers.
The Global Transportation Hub has become the subject of controversy over its involvement in a land purchase that disproportionately benefited businessmen with personal ties to Sask Party MLA Bill Boyd.
