Glenn R. Simpson

Glenn R. Simpson is an American former journalist with The Wall Street Journal and the co-founder of the Washington-based research firm Fusion GPS.[1] He was a senior fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center.[2]

He is the co-author of Dirty Little Secrets: The Persistence of Corruption in American Politics with political scientist Larry Sabato.[3] A New York Times book review called the book's approach "fiercely bipartisan" for addressing such taboo topics as "street money" passed around to ministers and others in the black community in exchange for Democratic endorsements, but criticized another section on voting fraud.[4]

Before Simpson worked for The Wall Street Journal, he was a reporter for Roll Call, where he broke stories on Gopac, a political action committee headed by House Speaker Newt Gingrich.[4]

Trump political scandal

In September 2015, Simpson began creating opposition information on presidential candidate Donald Trump. He was retained by Republican party opponents of Trump initially.[5] Simpson's company, Fusion GPS, hired Christopher Steele, a former MI6 agent to obtain information on Trump from his alleged Russian sources in June 2016.[6]
