Naik Ghulam Haider (Persian: غلام حیدر) (born 1890s) MBE was a Naik from Baluchistan, British India. He belongs to the Hazara Community.
After gaining commission as an officer in the British Indian Army, he served in both World Wars and with distinction in the World War I and World War II on the side of United Kingdom and opted for Pakistan as an aftermath of partition of British India in 1947.
Biography
Ghulam Haider was born on 1890 in Jaghori District, Emirate of Afghanistan into a tribal Hazara family. he born in Persian-speaking descent who belonged to a Hazara tribal tradition. After his coming from Afghanistan he was recruited to the British Indian Army as a Jawan in 1908 and eventually joined the 106th Hazara Pioneers after being promoted as the Naik– a non-commissioned officer in the British Indian Army.
