Gerry Joe Weise

Gerry Joe Weise (born 1959) is an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter, from Sydney Australia, who has performed in various countries around the world.[1]

He has released solo albums on the Blues Breaking Records label: Laon Blues Festival (2017), Blues Gone Wild (2016), Stormy Sydney 20th Anniversary (2014), Live And Proud (2012), Live Blues World Tour (2011), Blues Down Under (2009), Sydney Paris Blues (2005), Bushman Boogie Deluxe (1999), Bushman Boogie (1998), Live in Paris (1994); also on the same label are the official singles: Blue Concerto For Orchestra (Slide Guitar And Violin) (2016), Blues for Gary Moore (2011). In 2016 the Australian Blues Rock magazine[2] had written about the track Inside-Looking Out, from the Blues Gone Wild album: "the Eric Burdon song performed by Weise's soulful vocals and exciting adventurous guitar playing, intertwining with Juma Sultan's congas and percussion; they twine the threads of blues for our future!".[3]

Weise's guitar style is blues fused with rock and jazz. He has performed at numerous blues and jazz festivals: 1994 Cognac Blues Passions Festival,[4] 1996 30th Commemoration of the first Jimi Hendrix Experience Concert with guest Noel Redding,[5] 1999 Jazz and Blues Festival Leognan,[6] 2008 Santa Maria Blues Festival Azores,[7] 2009 Grosses Guitares Festival Vaugneray,[8] 2009 Scottsdale Art Fest Arizona USA,[9] 2010 Blues en VO Festival Paris,[10] 2012 Presqu'ile Blues Festival Ambialet,[11] 2013 Hookrock Festival Diepenbeek Belgium,[12] 2013 Unhate Festival Paris with band member Juma Sultan,[13] 2014 Gardenstock Festival Dixon Illinois USA with band member Juma Sultan,[14] 2014 Blues on Broadbeach Festival Australia.[15]
