Georgiana Belzer Young[1] (September 30, 1923 – November 29, 2007) was an American actress. She was the youngest sister of actresses Loretta Young, Polly Ann Young, and Sally Blane.[2] She had a brief career in film, appearing alongside her sisters in the biographical drama The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939), followed by bit parts in two other films.
Biography
Georgiana Young was born Georgiana Belzer in Los Angeles, California on September 30, 1923. She was the maternal half-sister of actresses Loretta, Sally, and Polly Ann Young.[3][4] Along with her sisters, Young was raised Roman Catholic.[5]
Young's acting career was short-lived, though she appeared in three films. Her debut role was as Berta Hubbard, sister of Mabel Gardiner Hubbard, in Irving Cummings's 1939 biographical film The Story of Alexander Graham Bell, opposite her sisters Loretta (as Mabel), Sally, and Polly Ann.[6] She would later have bit parts in two other films: No, No, Nanette (1940), and Border Incident (1949), the latter of which starred her husband, actor Ricardo Montalbán, whom she married in 1944.[7]
Personal life
Young married Ricardo Montalbán in Los Angeles in 1944, and remained married to him until her death in 2007.[2] Young met Montalbán in 1942. After seeing her performance in The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939), Montalbán had become infatuated with her.[8] The couple had four children: Laura (b. 1945),[9] Mark (b. 1947),[10] Anita (b. 1949),[11] and Victor (b. 1952).[12]
