Gajwel is a town in Siddipet district of the Indian state of Telangana.[2]

Civic administration

Gajwel Nagar Panchayat was constituted in 2012. The jurisdiction of the civic body is spread over an area of 49.00 km2 (18.92 sq mi).[1]

Politics

Gajwel Assembly constituency is a constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly, India.It is one of 10 constituencies in Siddipet district.[3] It consists of 6 mandals: Toopran, Kondapak, Gajwel, Jagadevpur, wargal, Markook and Mulug. J. B. Muthyal Rao is the First MLA of Gajwel. Gajwel Saidaiah won 4 times from 1962-1978. Telangana first Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is MLA from Gajwel seat.

Recent News

Gajwel came in news recently by the visit of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for the laying of Foundation stone for the first phase of 1600MW NTPC Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Project.
