Gaia (Armin van Buuren alias)
Gaia is music group started initially as an alias of Armin van Buuren, which is known for the songs like "Stellar", "Tuvan", and "Empire of Hearts". The current members of Gaia are van Buuren and Benno de Goeij, hence when a Gaia set is performed live, Armin and Benno both take the stage together. Previously, Mark Sixma was also a part of the project briefly.
Armin has a running joke where he refers to Gaia as 'his friends' in order to not associate himself with the project. A future Gaia album is in the works as stated by Armin van Buuren in a Q&A session with fans on Facebook.
Philosophies
Due to the nature of an artist alias, the Gaia project is supposedly governed by these fan philosophies.
- Gaia produces trance music only.
- Gaia performers do not speak any words to the audience when performing live.
- Gaia performers must be cloaked in order to not attract attention to the artists but instead focus on the music.
- Gaia does not collaborate with other artists. All releases are under Gaia only.
- Gaia does not create vocal songs. While snippets have been used, Gaia does not make tracks with vocalists.
