Controversies
On August 1, 2017, a class 4th student of GD Goenka, Indirapuram Ghaziabad died because of allegedly falling in the corridor outside his classroom[1]. The school claims that the student died because of a regular fall as the student's feet slipped. But investigation revealed that there was construction going on in the school because of which the floor was wet and the corridors were unmaintained. The school authorities claim that the incident occurred in one of the only spots in the school which is not under CCTV surveillance. The police authorities have reported that the school cleaned up the area where the incident happened and has registered an FIR on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence against school officials[2].
