Caixa Futebol Campus

Caixa Futebol Campus is the training center of S.L. Benfica. It has six pitches (three of synthetic turf) and holds 2,720 covered seats. It is mainly used by the senior squad and the youth teams. It is sponsored by a Portuguese bank company, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, hence the name.[2]

Infrastructure

The complex has a building consisting of a hotel with a capacity of 62 rooms, due to having the Youth Academy embedded in it. It also has two gyms, dressing rooms, swimming pools, jacuzzis, sauna, a cafeteria and an auditorium. After 2008, when Benfica TV was launched, the complex gained a TV studio as well. Its total area is about 15 hectares.

The infrastructure was expanded to accommodate all the Benfica's youth levels, but in particular the Benfica B team. A new stand was already constructed on the main field so the overall capacity has increased by 1188 seats to a maximum attendance of 2708.[3] Some additional changes were made at the presidential box, the press area, the control room, the location of the tourniquets and in the separation of the visiting supporters sector. The new stand was inaugurated on 1 December 2013.[4]

As part of the expansion three new pitches will be created, one of them with a capacity of 572. The campus' total area will increase to approximately 18.5 hectares.[5]
