Freshworks Inc., previously known as Freshdesk Inc., is a cloud-based customer engagement software provider based in San Bruno, California. The company was founded in October, 2010 by former Zoho Corporation executives, Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy.[3][4][5] Freshworks provides its services to 100,000 companies in 140 countries with offices in U.S., India, U.K., Australia, and Germany.[6][7][8]

Products

Freshworks provides cloud business software for companies of all sizes through email, phone, websites, forums, and social media. The products of Freshworks include Freshdesk, Freshservice,Freshsales and Freshcaller.

Freshdesk is a helpdesk software made for businesses to manage all their customer support needs.

Freshservice is an ITSM tool that enables businesses to align the needs of all their employees.

Freshsales is a customer relationship management software which enables businesses to manage their customer information better.

Freshcaller is a cloud based call center software that helps businesses support their customers via calls minus the hardware.

Freshworks’ products follow freemium pricing model.[9][10][11]

Freshworks provides a marketplace with over 100 integrations with cloud-based software providers such as TeamViewer, Slack, Salesforce, Jira, and Skype.[12][13][14]

Acquisitions

Freshworks has acquired multiple smaller companies for undisclosed amounts to improve its products and services.

In August 2015, 1Click, a live video chat and co-browsing platform, was acquired by Freshworks.

In October 2015, Freshworks acquired the social recommendation app Frilp.

In December 2015, Freshworks acquired Konotor, a company that helped businesses chat with consumers within apps.

In February 2016, the company acquired file collaboration platform Framebench.

In April 2016, Freshworks acquired the social customer support platform Airwoot.

A chatbot firm Chatimity was acquired in October 2016.

In January 2017, Freshworks bought Pipemonk, a data integration platform that allows companies, mainly e-commerce businesses, to synchronise and move data amongst multiple cloud apps.[15][16][17][18][19]

Funding

Freshworks has raised funds from Accel, Tiger Global Management, CapitalG and Sequoia Capital India, mainly for research and development for core product development, new product development and marketing.[20]

Freshworks raised its first round Series A funding of $1 million from Accel Partners in November 2011.[21][22][23]

In April 2012, Tiger Global and Accel Partners invested $5 million in a Series B round, to ramp up engineering talent, and for global expansion.

In November 2013, $7 million was funded by Accel Partners in a Series C round, to enter the IT service management. In June 2014, Freshworks received $31 million in Series D funding from Tiger Global Management, with Accel Partners and Google Capital, to continue building customer support services.[24][25]

In April 2015, $50 million was  invested by Tiger Global, Accel Partners and Google Capital, in a Series E round.[26][27]

In November 2016, Freshworks scored $55 million Series F round from Sequoia Capital India along with Accel Partners to expand across the entire product line, by valuing the company at $700 million.[28][29][30][31][32]
