FreeFileSync is a free and open source program used for file synchronization. It is available on Windows, Linux and OS X.
FreeFileSync works by comparing one or multiple folders on their content, date or file size and subsequently synchronizing the content according to user-defined settings. In addition to supporting local file systems and network shares, FreeFileSync is able to sync to FTP, FTPS, SFTP and MTP devices.
Reception
CNET.com staff praised the software for its intuitive and attractive design. It also noted: "This easy-to-use program makes file synchronization a breeze, even for novices."[1]
The project is backed by donations and a single and optional ad for related software that is shown during installation. All donors get access to an ad-free installer including a few additional perks like an auto-updater.[2]
