Frank Sorgatz (born 26 October 1961), known as Frank Mertens, is a German musician and composer. He is a former member of the German synthpop group Alphaville.[1][2]
After he left Alphaville in December 1984, Mertens founded the group "Lonely Boys" with Matine Lille (real name: Martina Richter) and Felix Lille (real name: Felix Schulte).[3]
In 1991, Mertens moved to Paris where he studied art (self study) in order to complete his project "Maelstrom" and back to Cologne, Germany in 1996.[4]
