Bishop Franco Mulakkal (Aippunny)[1] is the serving Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar.
Early Life
He was born in Mattam, Kerala, India on 25 March 1964. He was Ordained a Catholic Priest on 21 April 1990.
Education
He received his Masters degree in English and Sociology from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He acquired his Doctorate in Moral Theology from the Alphonsian Academy of Lateran University, Rome.
Bishop
He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Delhi on 17 January 2009. He was appointed Titular Bishop of Chullu on 17 January 2009 and Ordained a Bishop on 21 February 2009. He was appointed Bishop of Jalandhar on 13 June 2013 by Pope Francis. He also serves as the Secretary of Regional Bishops Conference of North, India and Consultor for Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue, Rome[2].[3]
