Fragata is a settlement in the western part of the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde. Its 2010 population was 172. It is situated 3 km southwest of Ribeira Brava. It is one of three settlements inside the central mountain range. Nearby places includes Praia Branca to the northwest and Ribeira Prata to the north The southern boundary borders Ribeira dos Calhaus in the south which also forms the boundary with Monte Gordo Natural Park, the municipal boundary with Ribeira Brava is to the east along with the village of Covoada.
The settlement's name etymology is a frigate that the first settlers arrive, another is that of the settlement's seat, Fragatona.

Its subdivisions are divided into three neighborhoods (barrios) including:
- Cruzinha
- Fragatona - main settlement of the village
- Geronimo
