Frequence3 (French: Fréquence3) is a webradio station in France.

History

In 1998, founder Alexandre Martinat[1][2] broadcast on Saturday nights as a weekly program. A group formed around him, motivated by the realization of a radio station 24 hours a day.[2]

Frequence3 was born on 15 April 2001, at the initiative of the previous group on the basis of an initial webradio called "Europe3". It was later renamed Fréquence3, the first name was already registered. At that time, only 30 simultaneous listeners could listen to the radio. Some programs make up the program schedule and first covered events take place on the Internet.

In 2002, the station developed, on the technical side, with the emergence of new servers for users to listen.[2] The antenna comes out of its studios to cover events outside (LANs), and welcomes its first guests.[2] Interactivity is enhanced with the opportunity for listeners to call the station directly.[2] The Frequence3 association, based in Belgium, was repatriated to France.

In 2003, the station invited diversity of events (music festivals, LANs, Internet events ...). In 2006, Frequence3 covered the Gamers Assembly with 68 hours of live access, and the Solidays Old Plows.

It was under the leadership of Frequence3, that on 14 March 2006, the National Association of France Webradios is created for a better recognition of their media.

Frequence3 launched, on 21 June 2006, a second stream of music, "F3 - Only 90's", with a program consisting solely of music of the 1990s.

On 17 October 2006, Frequency3 received a national distribution, beyond its dissemination via the portal Frequence3.fr, through channel 99 on the proposed Free Freebox service.[3]

In January 2007, Nicolas Moulin, Secretary since 2005, replaced Alexandre Martinat as President of the Frequence3 association.[4]

Since 15 February 2007, Frequence3 disseminates the radio program of the Graduate School of Journalism Paris. Called "Frequence ESJ" it takes on the programming of its big sister Frequence3 by adding university information.

On 3 March 2007, the association moved its studios in the heart of the ESJ Paris, bringing together all of its activities at a larger premises.

On 2 July 2007, Alexandre Martinat resigned from his post as director of air. Alexis Thiebaut, then coordinator of antenna, replaced Martinat in the direction of antenna.

In January 2008, Benjamin Poulin, in the association for several years, was elected as President of the Association.

On 15 May 2008, another stream was launched: "F3 - Mixarena", as a radio electronic and E-sports of the Frequence3 association, from the ashes and with the team CXRadio.

On 24 May 2008, after 7 years of use, the slogan "A Burst of Tubes" becomes "Hits On Line". The F3 logo evolved and was upgraded.

On 6 July 2008, Alexis Thiebaut resigned from his post as director of air. Vincent Tabard and Stéphane Liger then replaced him at the antenna direction.

On 3 December 2008, Frequence3 launched a new version of its website. A webpage tab "Frequence3TV" was operated during the 2008 Telethon.

On 14 February 2009, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, Frequence3 launched a new beta radio link called: "F3 - Love & Sex".
