Plot

Considered a coward by his fiancée and comrades in arms, a British army officer has to redeem himself.

This is the first of seven film adaptations: 1921, 1929, 1939, 1977 and 2002. Storm Over the Nile is a 1955 adaptation which borrowed heavily from the 1939 film.
